How to repurpose a webinar into a month of content with AI
- Level: Beginner
- A few hours to set up
The short answer
Transcribe the webinar with speaker names and timestamps, ask a model to pull out the distinct ideas, audience questions and exact quotes, then draft a blog post, email, social posts and clip suggestions for each idea. A person checks every quote against the recording before the month is scheduled.

At a glance
- The marketing problem
- A webinar takes weeks to plan and usually gets one follow-up email. The ideas, questions and quotes inside it stay useful long after the live session, but pulling them out by hand is slow, so most of it is never used again.
- Who this is for
- Content, demand-generation and event teams that run webinars, podcasts or recorded talks.
What you need
Before you start
- Speakers’ permission to reuse their words and clips
- A transcription tool that adds speaker names and timestamps (for example Descript, Otter or your webinar platform)
- A content calendar with the channels you will use
What goes in
- The recording and its transcript with timestamps
- The audience Q&A and chat log
- The slides
- Your voice guide, if you have one

Step by step
01 Tool
Transcribe with timestamps
Export the transcript with speaker names and timestamps, plus the Q&A log. Correct names and product terms before anything else.
02 AI step
Extract ideas, questions and quotes
Ask for distinct ideas, not a summary. Every item needs a timestamp so it can be checked.
Prompt to copy
Below is a webinar transcript with timestamps. List: 1. The five to eight distinct ideas, each with a one-sentence summary and the timestamps where it is discussed 2. Audience questions and the answer given, with timestamps 3. Up to ten quotable lines, copied exactly, with speaker and timestamp Do not reword the quotes. Do not add ideas that are not in the transcript. Transcript: [paste]
03 AI step
Draft pieces for each channel
Work one idea at a time, so every piece has a single point and a clear source in the recording.
Prompt to copy
Using idea [number] and its timestamps only, draft: one blog post outline, one email of under 150 words, three LinkedIn posts with different opening lines, and one clip suggestion of 30 to 60 seconds with start and end times. Follow this voice guide: [paste]. Mark every quote with its timestamp.
04 You decide
Check quotes and plan the month
Play each timestamp and correct any quote the model tidied. Drop pieces that repeat each other, then schedule the rest across the month.
05 Output
Publish the series
Publish on the planned dates, each piece with one idea and a link back to the full recording.
Where a person decides
A marketer checks every quote and claim against the recording and approves the calendar before anything is published.
What to watch for
- Models tidy speech into sentences the speaker never said, so quotes must be checked against the audio.
- Many pieces saying the same thing tire the audience; each piece needs a distinct idea.
- Clips out of context can misrepresent a speaker.
How to tell it is working
- Every quote has a timestamp and matches the recording.
- Each piece carries one idea and links back to the full session.
- Views or registrations for the recording are compared before and after the series.
An illustrative example
Input
Illustrative: a transcript of a fictional hour-long webinar on hiring the first marketing manager, with a Q&A log.
Output
Six ideas with timestamps, eight audience questions, ten exact quotes and a four-week calendar: one article, four emails, twelve LinkedIn posts and five clips.
