About Ali Fakhar
I run marketing that fills the pipeline, and I build or adopt the tools it runs on.
I'm Ali. I do marketing, and I build what marketing runs on.
I'm a London-based marketing manager with 13+ years across B2B software, consumer electronics and video games. I'm now Growth Marketing Senior Manager at Medidata. Before that, I spent over four years leading marketing at Geeks Ltd, a B2B software and AI consultancy, where I ran everything with a team of five, from strategy through to the campaigns, the tracking and the tools underneath them.
Two things define how I work. I treat marketing as one connected system, so paid, organic, conversion, CRM and content all answer to the same number: qualified pipeline. And I build tools or automations when a process is slow, manual or missing, I usually write the tool that fixes it rather than adding it to someone's to-do list.
Marketing that shows up in the pipeline
Google Ads: I inherited a legacy Google Ads account that was not performing or bringing any meaningful pipeline. After restructuring the whole account and changing the strategy, cost per lead fell 80%, conversion volume grew 9-fold, and the account delivered 450% ROI.
LinkedIn Ads: Across 65 campaigns and 478 creatives aimed at VPs, directors and C-suite buyers, I cut cost per lead by 85%, from £441 to £68, and lifted lead-form completion 5-fold.
SEO: I rebuilt the site's technical foundations, cutting crawl depth from six clicks to three, then built content on top of them. Average ranking moved from around 40 to 11, organic impressions grew 447%, and the organic conversion rate nearly tripled, from 1.1% to 3.1%.
Conversion and CRM: Continuous A/B testing and UX work lifted conversion rate by roughly 600%. I set up HubSpot from scratch with 100+ automated workflows, lead scoring and reporting the sales team actually used, and I rank in the top 15% of HubSpot users globally.
Together, that took marketing-qualified leads up 17-fold in three years. Along the way, I led the company's US market-entry go-to-market, grew its LinkedIn following from 5,000 to 13,000 organically, produced 40+ podcast episodes, and wrote the award submissions for DiGence, Geeks' AI product, which earned it industry recognition.
The technical side
My degree is in Information and Communication Technology, and I've never treated code as another department's job. Today, most of what I build runs on AI.
AI agents for growth: I've built custom AI workflows that research prospects, enrich data and draft personalised outreach at a volume no person could research by hand.
Automation: Pipelines that pull data from APIs, filter it against rules and push the results into Google Sheets, HubSpot or Telegram, on a schedule, with nobody touching them.
Where I come from
I started as a video game journalist in 2009 and went on to become editor-in-chief of Donyaye Bazi, one of the first official video game magazines in the Middle East. I then ran PR and communications for a national gaming and esports body, growing one of its events from 2,000 to 12,500 attendees and making it the region's largest eSports competition. I founded the VIGMA Awards, a video games media awards show and conference, and had it at 100% operating profit by its second edition. I also ran marketing and PR for Effects Montreal, the largest VFX and animation conference on North America's East Coast.
Then moved to the consumer tech sector. At Huawei, I led product marketing for smartphones, tablets and smartwatches, ran over 10 multichannel campaigns, one of which saw daily unit sales increase from 4,000 to 10,000, and beat our main competitor's share of voice by around 20%. As a part-time consultant for PlayPod, a cloud gaming subscription platform, I doubled monthly paid subscribers in under a month with no extra budget, just by changing the strategy and picking the channels smarter.
That range is why I can brief a board on go-to-market in the morning and debug a tracking script in the afternoon.
